  1. YAMAHA VINO 125   Yamaha Vino motor scooters don't seem to change much in looks from year to year but that's OK with me. The two models i have listed here are the only ones i like and are the ones most closely resembling a classic motor scooter.

►The Vino 125 achieves fuel economy up to an estimated 96 mpg with a fuel tank that holds 1.2 gallons of gas. Sporty 124cc air-cooled SOHC four-stroke, 2-valve engine puts out strong, predictable power with incredible gas mileage. Easy, dependable, push-button electric start with backup kick starter make getting on the road a breeze. Fully automatic V-belt transmission ensures easy, twist-the-throttle-and-go operation. CDI ignition system provides precise, high-voltage spark for seamless engine performance and excellent reliability. Mikuni BS26 carburetor with automatic choke and heater makes cold starting a snap. 180mm front disc brake provides strong, reliable stopping power. 3.50-10 front and rear tires offer great traction. Electronic fuel gauge keeps track of the gas level. 124cc air-cooled 4-stroke motor scooter. Maximum speed (as advertised) is approximately 55-60mph. Good dealer network.◄
  2. SCHWINN 50cc LAGUNA 2008   Update (4 Feb 2014): I think Schwinn Scooters is out of business. This is the 2008 model, 4-stroke engine.

►Why ride a Schwinn Motor Scooter? Maybe it's because you recognize quality when you see it. Perhaps it's because it's a brand you know and trust. Maybe you're looking for a little adventure. Or maybe you're looking for an alternative to your current gas-guzzling vehicle and this is the sweetest ride on the road. Whatever your reason, Schwinn Motor Scooters promises to offer the same style, quality and fun you've come to expect from the same company that created such bicycle classics as the Black Phantom®, the Paramount® and the Sting-Ray®.◄

  3. SCHWINN NEWPORT 50cc   This Schwinn model may be just the answer for those of us who are up to 6' 1" tall AND would like to buy & ride a 50cc motor scooter. Notice that this scooter is built to accommodate taller people. My personal experience is that most or all 50cc scooters are too cramped for a taller person. I am 5ft 11-½in tall. I would like to sit on one of these to check the leg space available.

►Because everyone needs their space. We know your pain. Most scooters suffer from a cramped, confining cockpit that looks like it was designed for a contortionist - or at the very least one of the seven dwarfs. But the Newport gives you the space you've been yearning for. Longer from saddle to handlebar for more reach, higher on the saddle for more leg room, and built with features you only wish were standard with other scoots: Telescoping front suspension, front disc brake, alloy wheels, 2-year warranty. 49.5ccs of chrome and class in the finest Schwinn tradition - 113 years and counting.◄
  4. SCHWINN 150cc NEWPORT 2008   This is the 2008 model, 4-stroke engine.

►Schwinn has enjoyed a heritage of providing quality products and service for more than 100 years. You can expect the same from your Schwinn Motor Scooter. From the vintage lines of the Campus to the timeless style of the Graduate, these 4-stroke scooters combine affordable transportation with unmatched style. We're Schwinn and we're Going Places. What's your next adventure?◄

  5. LANCE MOTOR SCOOTERS   I guess this is the home of the Lance Motor Scooter. They have a YouTube Channel you can access at the YouTube site. Nice looking, very reasonable priced Scooter. Lance seems to have about two models to choose from: One 49cc and one 125cc.

►All riders should take a safety course. Motorized vehicles can be hazardous to operate. For your safety, always wear a helmet, eye protection and protective clothing. Never engage in stunt or extreme riding. Riding and alcohol/drugs don't mix. Avoid excessive speeds. Be particularly careful on difficult terrain. For safety precautions, all vehicles must be assembled, inspected and maintained by a certified technician for warranty to be valid. Be sure to check and tighten all nuts and bolts prior to use. Also, be sure to check for appropriate engine fluid levels to ensure your vehicle is operating under the recommended conditions prior to use. Prices shown are Lance PowerSports suggested retail prices only and do not include taxes, license and handling charge. Actual vehicle/accessory costs, labor and installation vary. Dealers set their own prices. See your Lance dealer for details. Based on tests conducted in lab conditions. Actual mileage vary depend on vehicle condition, weather, rider weight and riding style.◄
  6. APRILI SPORTCITY ONE 125   They sell three models here in the US that i can find. This scooter appears to be California legal as they have a network of California distributors. Looks to be well made - quality item. Most newer scooters use a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). MSRP at the time of this entry: $2,899.

►Our increasingly congested world is crying out for vehicles capable of beating urban traffic with speed, style and elegance. Almost by definition, the scooter is the ideal urban vehicle. And over the years the scooter has evolved to cater for changing needs. The latest design trends emphasize practicality, safety, agility and economy, with a flair for fashion and style.◄

  8. TANK SCOOTERS   Tank scooters are manufactured in China and i have read a number of good reports about them.

►TANK motor scooters are street legal in California and all other states. The principal office and warehouse of Tank Sports, Inc., is located at 10925 Schmidt Road, El Monte, California 91733. Tank Sports Inc. is a wholesaler and does not deal directly with the public. The TANK support page however, has downloadable manuals, a FAQ and parts support email. "There is no question that a Kymko or a Honda would perhaps be of somewhat higher quality but at two to three times the price, those Taiwanese and Japanese vehicles are not likely to be the ones of choice on a large scale -- and the quality of Chinese scooters is rapidly improving to close that gap.◄
  9. PIAGGIO MOTOR SCOOTERS   I think this scooter company is based in Italy, but not sure. You can locate Piaggio dealers throughout the USA by using their dealer search feature located on their website.

►The Fly now comes in two engine sizes, 50cc and 150cc, offering riders two reliable options that are great for everyday use. Modern, functional, and elegantly crafted, both share superior performance, modern Italian styling, and comfort. Technologically advanced, the Fly inherits Piaggio's tradition of combining safety, reliability, and practicality with an eye-catching design. Light, compact, and agile, the Fly is easy to use, simple to park, and offers excellent power-to-weight ratio for enhanced performance. The 12in wheels and large, tubeless tires also contribute to greater stability and agility in traffic, and the low seat is perfect for riders of all heights. Environmentally-friendly single cylinder, four-stroke engine, low seat (30.9in) suitable for riders of all heights. Low, wide wheels (12in) for stability and safety. Automatic transmission and electric start (50cc model also includes emergency kick starter). Under seat storage for full size helmet. Glove and cell phone compartment. Electronic Immobilizer system (Fly 150 only).◄
  10. MOTORSPORT SCOOTERS   This is a motor scooter business located in San Diego California. They have a large selection of motor scooter parts which they sell online and offer same day shipping by UPS. They also sell new motor scooters.

  11. KYMCO USA   Kymco has some nice looking scooters, but not really a classic design, but kinda classic. They have lots of California dealers. I think their "People 150" is their main motor scooter and the one probably most popular. Kymco scooters all feature automatic transmissions and are available in a wide range of engine sizes and styles. Kymco scooters average between 70 and 100 miles per gallon and have top speeds ranging from 45mph (50cc) to 75+ mph (250cc).
They come with a 2-year warranty and have an excellent build quality. Picture on the right is of their "People 200" model.
